International classical music agency Intermusica has today announced the signing of South Korean violinist Inmo Yang to the agency for worldwide general management. Based in Berlin, Yang will be represented by Aimee Chow, director of Intermusica’s Berlin office.

In 2015, Yang became the first competitor in nine years to win first prize at the International Violin Competition “Premio Paganini” in Genoa, Italy. More recently, he has won first prize at the 2022 Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, where he was also awarded a prize for the best performance of the competitions commissioned work.

Chow, who will represent Yang, said: 'Inmo Yang is an extraordinary talent. His mind-blowing technique and pure musicality can be heard with every draw of the bow. We are incredibly excited to support Inmo in sharing his artistry on the world's biggest stages.'

Yang performs regularly in his native South Korea and recently made his Chicago Symphony debut. His debut album, Paganini: 24 Caprices, was recorded live by Deutsche Grammophon as part of his residency at Seoul’s Kumho Hall. Yang’s latest album, The Genetics of Strings, was released last year.

Having studied on the Artist Diploma program in New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Yang is currently studying for a master’s degree at Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler”.

Yang said: 'I am so happy to be joining Intermusica, who represent some of my favourite classical artists and have a deep understanding of how I want my music-making to evolve.  I am looking forward to get started with Aimee and the team!'

Having celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2021/22, Intermusica is using new technologies to redefine what an agency should be. The agency recently launched Amplify, a marketing and digital service designed to support the personal branding of its artists.
