Tenor Maxwell Levy joins Athlone Artists

Originally from New York, Levy's versatile repertoire spans opera, oratorio, art song and musicals. His 2019 season highlights included singing the role of Hermann in The Queen of Spades directed by Francesca Zambello at The Glimmerglass Festival, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte directed by Andrew Sinclair at Royal Academy Opera in London and the Opera Box Ghost in The Ghosts of Versailles conducted by Joseph Colaneri at the Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles.

This season, Levy sang the role of Ricardo in Massenet’s Chérubin with Royal Academy Opera, conducted by Tony Legge. He previously spent two seasons with Opera Philadelphia, performing in the company’s productions of Turandot, Tancredi, Die Zauberflöte and Carmen.
