Mansfield's legal and commercial experience will help inform future decision-making processes for PRS for Music

PRS for Music has announced the appointment of Gill Mansfield as independent non-Executive director of the PRS Members’ Council and Board. Mansfield will chair PRS’ Distribution Committee, approving changes to distribution policy principles.

Mansfield said: ‘This is an important time for the music industry and Collective Management Organisations to speak up for those whose works enrich our everyday lives.’ She added: ‘I am excited to play a part in these developments at PRS.’

A commercial lawyer, board advisor and non-executive director, Mansfield has over twenty-five years of legal and commercial experience, as well as being a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accredited commercial mediator. She is a committee member of the London Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a non-executive director of Reason Digital.

Nigel Elderton, chair of the PRS Members’ Council, said that Mansfield’s ‘wealth of experience across a vast array of senior legal, board and non-executive director roles within the media and entertainment landscape will be invaluable to our future decision-making processes on behalf of all PRS members.’

PRS for Music represents the rights of songwriters, composers, and music around the world, working to grow and protect the value of its members rights and ensure creators are paid fairly whenever their work is streamed, downloaded, broadcast, performed and played in public.
