October House Records will run as both a record label and a paid-for subscription streaming and download platform

Launching on 1 October 2021, October House Records is a new record label and online record store, run by musicians and founded by cellist and composer Colin Alexander.

Its musicians' releases will not be available on any other platform or website, and will be issued in batches of around 10 albums/projects every three months.

OHR aims to cover individually agreed production, mastering and design expenses so that it costs the artist nothing to release with the label.

The split in royalties will be, after VAT, 85% to the lead artist (royalty receiver), 10% to OHR and 5% to the release coordinator. The same split will apply to radio play income and the use of any of our releases in film and TV productions.

OHR will also offer the option to stream all of its releases for a monthly subscription fee (£7.50) whilst also being able to download EPs and albums for circa £4 and £10 respectively. Downloads will also be available to non-subscribing guests, and a further option of buying our releases ‘as a gift’ will allow our users to purchase, for example, two EPs or albums for circa £6 and £15 respectively - one for the purchaser and a well-designed email (using the relevant artwork) with a coupon code (100% off) sent to the giftee.

In addition, a radio channel, playing the label's entire collection, will also be available to subscribers.

In its first release on 1 October there are albums and projects from Jasmin Kent Rodgman, Zoë Martlew, Colin Alexander, Love Ssega, Max Baillie and Leafcutter John, Héloïse Werner, Max Baillie, Kit Downes & Shiva Feshareki, Ongemang, and David Buckley.
