After the success of her YouTube videos in 2007 Lisitsa became the first classical artist to convert internet success into a concert career

French record label Naïve has announced the signing of pianist Valentina Lisitsa along with her production label, Queen of Rachmaninov (QOR).
Lisitsa’s first recording with Naïve, her Scriabin recital, will be released in digital format on 7th January 2022. Over the next three years Lisitsa and Naïve will release a series of ambitious projects including Rachmaninov’s complete solo piano works and Beethoven’s complete piano sonatas, as well as albums dedicated to composers including Chopin, Schumann and Ravel.
Pierre-Antoine Devic, head of Naïve Classique, said: ‘Valentina’s outstanding musical talent, her personality and her digital audience are fantastic assets we are eager to capitalize on and develop to serve her art and create the best environment for each of her recording projects.’
After posting her first video on her YouTube channel, a recording of Rachmaninov’s Étude Op.39/6, in 2007, Lisitsa became the first classical artist to convert internet success into a concert career. Her YouTube channel now boasts over 650,000 subscribers and 147 million views (an average of 75,000 views per day), and over one million monthly users listen to her on Spotify.
Lisitsa said: ‘When we started the discussions with the naïve team, I felt that we were speaking the same language; their team showed the highest level of understanding towards our principles and long-term aims and brought focus and expertise to my projects without affecting my creative freedom.’
Part of the Believe Group since 2016, Naïve was founded in Paris in 1998 with a focus on independence, diversity and originality, in France and internationally, across classical, jazz, pop and world music.
