ISM appoints new president and president-elect

Deborah Keyser is currently director of Tŷ Cerdd – Music Centre Wales. Vick Bain is diversity consultant and former CEO of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.

Keyser said: ‘I am excited to begin my term as ISM president, and I must start by thanking 2020-21 president, professor Chris Collins, who has helped to guide the ISM through its most challenging year. I am greatly looking forward to continuing work that Chris and the leadership team have started, and help the ISM to continue its vital role in the protecting musicians and music in the UK – through Covid-19 and beyond.’

President-elect Vick Bain said: 'I am truly honoured to take up this position, supporting Deborah Keyser this coming year, and the presidency in 2022. Equality, diversity, and inclusion have been a driving force throughout my career, and I am proud to support the ISM in building upon its trailblazing ‘Dignity at Work’ campaign, and helping it continue to be at the forefront of addressing issues of inequality and discrimination within the music sector.’
