Hours: an average of 12 hours per week (annualised hours)

Salary: £9,500 per annum

The Vicar and the PCC of St Bartholomew’s Church, Brighton seek to appoint a a talented and entrepreneurial organist and choir director who will sustain and develop the excellent musical tradition of St Bartholomew’s Church. The appointee will work alongside the Vicar and the role will include re-forming the choir, recruiting new singers and initiating and directing a programme of musical engagement with our local community. In particular, he/she will establish a children’s choir at St Bartholomew’s Primary School. A full copy of the Job Description is available on request.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a high level of ability in playing the organ and choral directing, a good understanding of liturgy, good communication skills, both oral and written, a pleasant personality and be adaptable in terms of helping to shape and maintain the choral and musical life of St Bartholomew’s.

An enhanced DBS check will be required in accordance with our safeguarding regulations.
